Al-Ittihad achieved an exciting 2-1 victory over Al-Fayha in the match that brought them together on Tuesday evening at Al-Inmaa Stadium, as part of the sixth round of the Saudi Roshan League, continuing "Al-Ameed"'s positive results in the competition.
Al-Ittihad started the match strongly and succeeded in opening the scoring in the 43rd minute through Jota, who gave the home team the lead before the end of the first half.
However, Al-Fayha refused to leave the first half trailing and managed to equalize in the fourth minute of added time 45+4, after Spaniard Jaison Remisero scored, bringing the match back to square one before the break.
In the second half, Al-Ittihad continued their pressure in search of regaining the lead, until they were awarded a penalty in the 68th minute. Moroccan Youssef En-Nesyri stepped up to take it and successfully converted it into a goal, giving his team the lead again.
Al-Fayha tried to get back into the game in the remaining minutes, but Al-Ittihad's defense held on to their lead, while the final minutes saw attempts disallowed for offside, including one for Youssef En-Nesyri and another for Al-Fayha, ending the confrontation with Al-Ittihad's 2-1 victory.
With this victory, Al-Ittihad continues its strong run in the Roshan League, after having achieved a valuable 2-1 victory over Al-Nassr in the previous round, reinforcing its presence in the competition race as the sixth round matches continue.
