French star Karim Benzema has entered the calculations of a number of English clubs, after becoming a free agent following his departure from Al-Hilal of Saudi Arabia, amid anticipation surrounding the next step in the veteran striker's career.
According to journalist Ben Jacobs, Benzema may attract interest from Premier League clubs in the coming period, despite the transfer window being closed, as regulations allow clubs to sign players who are not tied to any contract.
England does not appear to be Benzema's only potential destination, as Saudi club Al-Shabab is considering signing him, while the player also has interest from a number of Turkish clubs, seeking a new experience in the next phase of his career.
Al-Hilal had announced at the end of August that an agreement had been reached with Benzema to terminate the contract between the two parties by mutual consent, making the French striker a free agent after a short period with the team.
Despite the brevity of his experience with Al-Hilal, Benzema delivered good numbers, having participated in 16 matches, scoring 10 goals and assisting 5 others, before the two parties decided to end their contractual relationship.
